Mrs. Kinnersley visits Library Headquarters

On Tuesday Mrs. Kinnersley went up to London to The Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) headquarters for an Executive Briefing on ‘The Social Media Revolution’. There were six speakers from different sorts of libraries, talking about their experiences of using social media, looking at what worked, what didn’t, and the best ways to get social media and Web 2 technologies working for the library, from Twitter to blogs and Facebook (and what to do if you’ve inadvertently mixed up your personal and work Twitter accounts). For those of us just starting out, it was a very good overview of the subject, and a good opportunity to meet a variety of people from other libraries, to compare notes, share experiences, and enjoy the profiteroles!
