Eva Schloss Visits Library to Look at the Display and Sign Her Books

Born in Austria in 1929 but later moving to live in Holland after Hitler annexed Austria, Eva Schloss went into hiding with her family when the Germans invaded Holland in 1942.  After betrayal and capture, she was sent to  Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp where she was one of only six who survived out of the 800 sent with her. We were very priviledged to have Eva visit the Library after her Lecture. She was very pleased with the display Mrs Wallis had created about her life, books and play and was overwhelmed by the response of pupils and staff at the book signing. Never has a visiting author been so warmly and enthusiastically welcomed in our school and Library. You can listen to her moving lecture in the Upper Sixth Lectures file on Clickview.
